Alexander Albon might join the Formula E championship next year with the Nissan team, replacing the current driver Oliver Rowland.
The team confirmed that it is searching for a new driver who will replace Rowland for the next season, and Albon seems the chosen one.
The former Red Bull driver was set to join Nissan for the 2019 season, but then Toro Rosso called him, and Albon debuted that year in Formula 1. After two seasons, Albon might finally join the Formula E outfit.
“He [Albon] is amongst the ones we are considering and he kept contact with us so we are talking regularly,” said Nissan team manager Francois Sicard to The Race.
“He’s following what we do, so we are very close to Alex and he could be amongst the ones we can select. But there are others and you have to know that Alex might have also other opportunities.”
The decision was not announced yet, so we will keep you updated on what will happen as soon as an official statement will be released.
