Charles Leclerc assures that Scuderia Ferrari will put maximum effort for Sprint Qualifying on Saturday at Silverstone.
Leclerc went on to have a good qualifying session on Friday evening, securing 4th position at the start of Sprint Qualifying. The Monegasque was delighted with the result and admitted that the team would try to have the best result possible on Saturday.
“I’m very happy. It was a tricky qualifying. With so little preparation going into qualifying, it makes things a bit trickier. But we did a good job, maximised the potential of the car, and yeah it’s an exciting weekend,” he said.
“Tomorrow we have a sprint race, don’t really know how to go into that sprint. We will just try to do the best race possible.
“I was quite confident [with the car], especially in Q1. In Q2, I wasn’t at the level I wanted to be. Then in Q3, I regained the confidence, and the pace a little bit in the car, so I’m happy with how it went.”
At the same time, it is quite difficult for Leclerc to make any predictions for tomorrow.
“Let’s wait and see. I don’t like to speak too quickly. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow. We are all going into an unknown,” he commented.
“We have got FP2 to try and prepare the sprint race as well as we can – and then let’s see what can we do.”
