Christian Horner thinks that Mercedes might make a recovery at Silverstone, where they are always strong.
Red Bull Racing is currently on a hot streak with five consecutive race wins ahead of the British GP. However, Silverstone is the track that has been good for Mercedes in the hybrid era. Red Bull’s team principal Horner supposes that Mercedes can return to the top form this weekend.
“It’s been a really dominant couple of weekends for us. [But] I know now we head to a circuit that has been really very much a Mercedes stronghold for the last seven years,” Horner said.
“Obviously Mercedes have been enormously strong there over the years and Lewis will have the benefit of home support as well so we expect it to be a big challenge,” he added.
At the same time, Horner wants the team to keep the momentum going at Silverstone.
“It’s going to be fascinating to see if we can take this form into what is our next home race. We’ve certainly found a good working window with the car over the last few races and I think that hopefully, we can work within that window at Silverstone,” he commented.
