As both Aston Martin drivers finished outside of the points at the Austrian Grand Prix, Lance Stroll admitted the team hasn’t made a big step forward despite achieving some strong results in the past races.

The son of the team owner, Stroll, admitted that the results of Aston Martin depend on a weekend-by-weekend basis, as the squad makes changes that improve or worsen their pace.

“We’re kind of the same,” he said after the Styrian Grand Prix. “We haven’t really made a big step with it. If we do a good job we score some points but when it doesn’t go our way we’re outside the points, it’s like we’re around there.”

Aston Martin had their strongest run at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Sebastian Vettel finished third, with Lance Stroll retiring due to a tire problem.
