Ross Brawn believes Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes can both still win the title this season, despite the large gaps to first.

Brawn believes the new sprint race formula could be one of the things which helps Mercedes get back to winning ways, and he would be surprised if Red Bull keeps winning as they have done the five previous races.

“The title is still within the reach of Hamilton and Mercedes,” Brawn said. “Red Bull has dominated these races, but I would be impressed if that continues to be the case on every track.”

“I think the British Grand Prix at Silverstone is going to be fascinating, especially with the new format for Saturday’s sprint. Max is in a great situation right now. He works well with his team and you can see the harmony that exists.”

“I have said before that we always think Max was world champion material and now he is proving it bluntly.”
