The new construction of Pirelli tires are expected to be introduced from the British Grand Prix in two weeks, after successful tests in Austria this weekend.

Mario Isola, Pirelli’s F1 boss, said the teams and drivers were satisfied with the new construction, which will likely be implemented from the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. This new construction was brought in to combat sudden failures, such as those seen from Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll in Baku, which could have caused very dangerous accidents.

“I didn’t have any objections, I didn’t have any negative comments, I didn’t collect anything that makes me think there is no good reason to introduce the prototype in Silverstone,” Isola said.

“We are going to receive the data tonight, so we want to take a bit of time to analyze the data and collect feedback also tomorrow morning. But to be honest, I don’t see a reason why we shouldn’t introduce it in Silverstone. The final confirmation will be on Saturday anyway.”
