Mick Schumacher started his Formula 1 career with Haas in 2021, but it has not been easy for him so far since the team is focusing on 2022. Therefore, Jos Verstappen believes the German still needs time to show his real talent.

The father of Max Verstappen helped his son a lot throughout his career, and he did the same with the son of the seven-time world champion.

“I had a conversation with Corinna [Mick’s mother] after his first year in Formula 4, and she asked me which way he should go. They were the best in Formula 4 and Formula 3 at that time. And that’s what they did.

“Mick is doing well”, Verstappen added. “The Haas is difficult to drive, but he will learn a lot this year, and next year there are new cars. We have to give him time.”

To conclude, Jos said that he believes the situation at Haas will be a lot better next season, and that will help Mick to show his skills.

“I think next year Haas will be more supported by Ferrari. I already think they are working hard behind the scenes.”
