It has been announced that Igora Drive will replace Sochi as the venue for the Russian Grand Prix from the 2023 season.
Igora Drive is a motorsport complex in the resort of Igora. It is located 54 kilometres from Saint Petersberg. The FIA Grade 1 track is 4.086 km long and 12 meters wide. It has 17 meters in elevation changes with 15 corners.
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domencali revealed the decision when he visited then track recently.
“I am pleased to confirm following joint intensive work with our Russian partners and detailed assessment of Igora Drive [that] Formula 1 will be racing at that amazing circuit from 2023,” Domenicali said. “I am impressed by Saint Petersburg and believe that the Russian Grand Prix at Igora Drive will be an incredible event.”
