Quartararo leads warm-up at Sachsenring

Fabio Quartararo was the fastest during the warm-up with Pol Espargaro and Nakagami right behind him.

Ahead of the MotoGP race at Sachsenring, the riders had the last opportunity to reach perfection during the warm-up, which is a session that helps the riders to feel how the bike works in race conditions.

The first one to enter the track was Maverick Vinales, followed by the other riders that started their session right away. After a few minutes, Francesco Bagnaia swapped the bike since he tried the tires for the wet. The teams wanted to be cautious and be ready in case of rain.

Five minutes into the session, Aleix Espargaro crashed heavily and hit the wall. Luckily for him, he was fine, but the bike had a lot of damage.

With ten minutes to go, the leader of the session was Pol Espargaro ahead of Takaaki Nakagami and Morbidelli. Meanwhile, Aleix Espargaro went back to the box and was ready to restart his work.

Marc Marquez as well decided to swap his bike with eight minutes to go, he was sitting in P9.

With only five minutes left on the clock, Joan Mir managed to up in third, overtaking Morbidelli.

Aleix Espargaro made another mistake and went wide onto the gravel, but this time he did not crash and re-joined the track right away. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo went third fastest behind Nakagami. The lap later he improved his time even more and went first overall.

At the end of the session, Quartararo remained the fastest ahead of Pol Espargaro and Nakagami.
