Romain Grosjean’s scheduled Mercedes test at Paul Ricard in France has had to be postponed, the team has announced.

Mercedes announced in late 2020, that they were to give Grosjean a swansong outing in an F1 car, as his final season was cut short due to his monumental crash in Bahrain. The team has said the reason behind it is COVID-19 travel restrictions, as Grosjean drives in IndyCar, which is racing at Road America this coming weekend.

“We’re disappointed to announce that Romain Grosjean’s Mercedes test has been postponed because of travel restrictions and quarantine requirements.” a short statement read.

“We’re committed to giving Romain his chance in a Mercedes F1 car and we’re working to reschedule the test later this summer.”

Mercedes goes to France off one of their worst weekends in years, with no points to their name in Baku.
