Takaaki Nakagami has lead the Catalan Grand Prix warm up session, with Maverick Vinales crashing his way to second.

It was time for MotoGP to have their warm-up session for the Catalan Grand Prix. This short session was simply for riders to feel out the circuit on race day, and warm up their bikes for this afternoon’s race.

There were a lot of bike swaps throughout the session, meaning the teams were wary of a possibility of rain in the afternoon, or a flag-to-flag race. By the halfway mark it was Franco Morbidelli fastest, from Johann Zarco and Maverick Vinales.

The session was very tame, with riders just lapping the course and getting a feel for today’s conditions. There were a few bike swaps, with riders potentially thinking rain is a possibility, though the forecast says otherwise.

In the end, it was Nakagami on top, from Vinales, who crashed in the final minute of the session, and Morbidelli third.
