After showing a good pace in Free Practice, Sergio Perez admitted that the qualifying results do not reflect his true pace around Baku.

Ahead of the qualifying session at Baku, Red Bull seemed to be the favorite to take pole position. However, a tough session brought out an unexpected result.

Perez only managed to qualify in P7 after having to abort his lap due to red flags at the end of Q3.

“It was very unfortunate today. We had a lot of speed here until qualifying, all weekend long. But today we couldn’t do the perfect lap when it mattered in Q3.”

Despite the poor result on Saturday, Perez tries to be positive ahead of the Grand Prix.

“It’s unfortunately how it is, let’s see what we can do tomorrow during the race. It’s a long race, so qualifying is not the most important thing. We still have everything to fight for. Anything can happen. We have to keep our heads down and get results tomorrow.”

I am an Italian guy. I love Motorsport because of the emotions that it gives me and I grew up watching races. That's what I love!
