The night race on the streets of Singapore will be canceled for the second year in a row.
Six race weekends into the 2021 Formula 1 season, the calendar will have another modification. According to numerous sources, the Singapore GP will not take place this year. The announcement is yet to be made by the officials, but is expected to be released soon. The reason for this is the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions it causes.
The Singapore GP is likely to be replaced with another race as Formula 1 wants to save the 23-race calendar.
“We continue to work with all promoters during this fluid time and have plenty of options to adapt if needed,” the F1 spokesman said.
The venues likely to host the race are the United States, China, and Turkey.
ASN Motorsports will make the updates as soon as more information is provided.
