Kyle Larson sees his Coca-Cola 600 pole position as a big positive due to limited overtaking chances at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver Larson is in great shape lately – he has three consecutive second-place finishes and now is the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 polesitter. He admits that his recent results give him even more confidence as well as thinks that his car looks to be quick this weekend.
“It [pole position] definitely helps the confidence,” Larson told ASN Motorsports. “I feel like we were pretty fast in the race trim yesterday and now getting the pole.”
The no.5 car driver also believes that the track position will be vital on Sunday.
“Starting up front is going to be really important. It looked like a pretty tough track to pass on last year. And with an added stage, there’s more opportunity to gain points and gain another Playoff point for the end of the season. So, starting from the front is definitely important,” he added.
In the conclusion, Larson shares his hope to have a good race as he will aim for the victory.
“I hope that we can have a great day tomorrow night, keep up with the race track, and how it’s changing, and to lead the whole race is my goal.”
