Tom Dillmann returns to the Formula E action as a reserve driver for Jaguar Racing, confirmed by the team.
Jaguar Racing has got another driver in the team, It has been confirmed on Thursday morning that the former Venturi and NIO driver Dillmann joined Jaguar as a reserve driver, being alongside his compatriot Sacha Fenestraz.
Dillmann was close to a full-time seat at NIO 333 this season, but missed out on it. However, he was glad to stay in the Formula E paddock as racing there was still his goal.
“After Venturi, I was let’s say on an uptrend and then I got a seat with NIO for the full season. Unfortunately, that was a really hard season with a very uncompetitive car, so it put a big handbrake to that uptrend,” he told Motorsport.com.
“It’s difficult to go back in and get the race seat again. Of course, to still be involved in Formula E and stay up to date and still be around is important.”
“My goal is still to race in Formula E. It’s been difficult after NIO but I don’t give up.”
Dillmann’s latest full-time Formula E season was in 2018/2019, where he had driven for NIO. He finished 23rd in the championship with the best result of 12th in Hong Kong.
