McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo believes that Lewis Hamilton’s incredible performances and achievements make the naysayers stop critisizing.
Throughout his Formula 1 career, Lewis Hamilton has received a lot of criticism towards himself. However, the Briton has never paid attention to that and made his actions speak for themselves – 7 world titles as well as most wins and pole positions in F1 history. Daniel Ricciardo thinks that all these accomplishments stop unjustified criticism.
“A lot of people are probably tipping their hat to Lewis,” Ricciardo said. “He’s getting it dished back at him and he’s holding his ground. And, I guess, showing people that maybe doubted him, why he is as good as he is.”
The Australian also spoke about the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Speaking about the possible outcome, the McLaren driver gave the preference to the reigning champion: “At this stage, you’d always, I guess, take experience.”
At the same time, he admitted that the Dutchman would use any opportunity to outpace his rival.
“So if it was really down to the wire, then I think Lewis has showed some strong signs. But then again, if there’s a gap, Max goes for it. That’s why obviously I respect Max a lot.”
This weekend experienced Lewis Hamilton and ambitious Max Verstappen will have another round of the title battle at the Monaco GP.
