Charles Leclerc says Ferrari’s new driver Carlos Sainz is helping the team recover the pace from which they lacked during the 2020 season.
Ferrari finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship last year, their worst finish in decades. Now, the Scuderia seems to be in a better shape as it is promisingly recovering, with both drivers scoring points in every round so far.
Leclerc said him and Sainz are pushing each other, something that is working well for the Prancing Horse.
“It’s looking good,” he said. “We are working very well as a team. We are pushing each other. Carlos is extremely competitive and very quick all the time, so we are pushing each other.
Sainz also stated that his arrival is helping the team progress, as he says that him and Leclerc are working together to improve the overall performance of the team.
“We are learning a lot from one another and I think this is very positive for the whole team.
“We are also asking the same thing to the engineers to have just a better car, which is also very constructive for the whole team. So we are in a good place at the moment and we need to keep working on that.”
