Today, Sunday, the third Formula 3 race of the weekend took place. Dennis Hauger went on winning the race ahead of Jack Doohan and Matteo Nannini.
At the start, Hauger held on P1, Victor Martins was on P2, Nannini on P3, and Doohan slipped back to P4. These four cars went into the first corner together.
Doohan tried to make up his lost grid positions in the first few laps and got closer and closer to his opponents in front of him.
On lap 4, the first driver pitted. Lorenzo Colombo of Campos Racing went in after a puncture and got new tires.
After a few laps, the leader was able to pull away more and more. Hauger led by 1.9 seconds after 5 laps and extended it to 3.6 seconds.
Charles Leclerc’s brother, Arthur Leclerc, caught up and passed Jonny Edgar on lap 6. This put him in P14.
Doohan was catching up more and more, passing Martins on lap 7 and getting closer to the podium positions again.
On lap 12 Doohan picked up another spot and was back in P2.
On lap 13, the next driver came into the pits. Kaylen Frederick picked up a puncture and headed to the pit lane.
On lap 14, there was an overtaking maneuver. However, Rafael Villagomez received a 5-second time penalty in the process for pushing Frederick off the track.
With 5 laps to go, Olli Caldwell got DRS on the main straight and grabbed P4 from Martins.
On lap 20, a battle began between Charouz Racing System’s Logan Sargeant and Trident’s Clement Novolack for P6. Clement Novalak made it through and Frederik Vesti also passed Logan Sargeant.
However, things got worse for Sargeant on the last lap. He lost P8 and finished the race in P9.
In the end, it was a deserved win for Hauger at the top. The Norwegian was continuously 1st in the race and did not let any opponent come close.
