Dale Earnhardt Jr. to drive in Xfinity Series Richmond fall race

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will make his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series later this year at Richmond.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. comes back to NASCAR. However, this will be for one race only. It has been announced earlier on Tuesday that the NASCAR legend will be behind the steering wheel of the no.8 JR Motorsports car in the Xfinity Series race at Richmond Raceway.

The paint scheme will be a tribute to all the victims of the 9/11 attacks, which had happened on September 11th, 2001. The race will take place exactly 20 years since the attacks.

Earnhardt Jr. spoke about the paint scheme and what he felt: “It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since that terrible day. The spirit of unity and togetherness our country felt on Sept. 11 is just as relevant now as it was then. I’m honored to be driving this car, and championing Unilever’s United for America program.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s latest NASCAR Xfinity Series race was back in 2020 at Homestead-Miami. He finished 5th in the no.8 car.
