The minimum weight of F1 cars are set to rise from 752 to 775kg in 2022, as the details of the new regulations begin to take shape.

In the most recent publication of the Technical Regulations, there is an addition of the minimum weight. The rule stipulates the cars must weigh at least 775kg, 23kg heavier than this year.

Some sources suggest this figure could rise to as much as 790kg, which would be a massive 38kg more than this year. It coincides with the new aero regulations which, among other things, reintroduces ground effect to Formula 1.
