Nyck de Vries has set the quickest lap time of the second day of the WEC Prologue day 2, 0.5s quicker than the quickest Hypercar time.

The World Endurance Championship competitors came back to action for the second day of Prologue at Spa-Francorchamps and it was an eventful day indeed.

The morning session was dominated by LMP2 again. However, it was G-Drive Racing with Nyck de Vries behind the steering wheel of the no.26 car, who was the quickest in the first session of the day. He set the lap time of 2:04.168. The no.7 Toyota was on top in Hypercars, while Porsches dominated the GTE class – no.92 Porsche GT in GTE Pro and no.56 Team Project 1 in GTE Am.

In the afternoon session, things turned around. A Hypercar finally was the quickest car on the track. It was the no.8 Toyota, driven by Sebastien Buemi, who set the quickest time of the afternoon session – 2:04.669. However, that was still half a second slower than de Vries’ time from earlier in the day. The no.22 United Autosports car was back on top in LMP2 again. The no.91 Porsche GT car was the fastest in GTE Pro as well as the no.33 TF Sport car in GTE Am.
