Sebastian Vettel’s former teammate Mark Webber supposes that Ferrari broke the German.
Sebastian Vettel came to Ferrari with quite high expectations. However, they were not met and both parties parted ways on the lowest of lows in their relations. Former Red Bull Racing teammate Mark Webber spoke about the cooperation of the 4-time world champion and the Prancing Horses.
“I think Ferrari took a part of his soul, in terms of his trust. They broke him. And when you feel a little disconnected, that ends up being very toxic. It was obvious that it was a toxic environment for both of us. Ferrari didn’t want him and he didn’t want Ferrari, and their marriage was too long. That’s tough,” Webber tol SoyMotor.com.
Webber also added that the latest years at Ferrari took away that drive and momentum from the German and the Australian hoped to see that passion come back in the foreseeable future.
“We all hope he can fight again. I don’t think there are a lot of people who want to see him end up like this after the race he’s had. I hope he can at least get his smile back before quitting. I really hope he can,” he commented.
