Joey Gase anticipates the support of the fans in the stands at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.

The upcoming race weekend at Talladega is going to be very special for Joey Gase. He will drive in both the Xfinity Series and Cup Series in the no.28 car, which is a tribute to the late Davey Allison. The 28-year-old driver from Cedar Rapids, IA spoke about the extra motivation that the tribute would give him.

“It [Talladega Superspeedway] is Davey’s home track. Davey’s from Alabama, so we’re going to have a ton of people cheering for us there,” Gase told ASN Motorsports.

“We just added a little extra pressure, but definitely motivation [is there] to do well for Davey and his family and all the fans. We definitely want to represent them and the no.28 well,” he added.

Joey Gase will start the Xfinity Series race 29th and the Cup Series race 35th.
