Virtual racing on the Gran Turismo game will be a part of the Olympic Virtual Series in several weeks.

Motorsports is one of the sports that is not included in the Olympic Games program and there have been a lot of discussions and debates about it. A significant step has been made towards the intergration of motorsports into the Olympics.

It has been announced that sim racing will be a part of the Olympic Virtual Series, which will take place from May 13th to June 23rd. It will be a preparation for the actual Olympics in Tokyo. Gran Turismo will be the platform of the competition.

The IOC president Thomas Bach commented: “The Olympic Virtual Series is a new, unique Olympic digital experience that aims to grow direct engagement with new audiences in the field of virtual sports.

“Its conception is in line with Olympic Agenda 2020+5 and the IOC’s Digital Strategy. It encourages sports participation and promotes the Olympic values, with a special focus on youth,” he added.
