The 2014 Moto2 champion Tito Rabat is set to replace Jorge Martin at the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
Jorge Martin had had only 3 race weekends in MotoGP, but they had been a rollercoaster – first pole position, first podium, and first big shunt. The Pramac Racing rider had a nasty incident at the Portuguese GP FP3. The medical evaluation showed that he had several fractures and had to undergo surgeries. Obviously, that excluded the young rider from participation in Portimao as well as in Barcelona next weekend.
The team needed to find a replacement for Martin and it seemed like they had found it. According, to Motorsport.com Tito Rabat would ride the Ducati bike in Spain.
Tito Rabat is the 2014 Moto2 champion and has also raced in MotoGP since 2016. Unfortuantely, that stretch has not seen successful with the best result of 19th in both 2017 and 2018. This year, he will make his WSBK debut, but ahead of it, he will make a comeback to MotoGP for at least 1 race.
