Fernando Alonso has expressed a positive attitude towards the updates introduced by Alpine at Imola.

The French squad had announced a series of updates to their car for the weekend of Imola onwards, and their driver Fernando Alonso has expressed happiness about their performance.

“It’s been a good Friday, we’ve completed our program without issues. Despite the red flags and other incidents that stopped both sessions, I was happy with the new updates we’ve done to the car and I’ve noticed a better performance,” he said.

Regarding his performance against other rivals, Fernando was careful not to make any statements as Friday practices are not representative of the real pace.

“We’ll see where we are tomorrow. Hopefully, there’s more to come. As we suspected, it’ll be very tight again, so qualifying should be interesting. It’s been amazing to drive again at Imola and feel the car in these high grip conditions,” concluded.
