Rick Ware Racing announced on Tuesday that Truck Series veteran, Jennifer Je Cobb will pilot their no.15 Cup car at Talladega Superspeedway.
Cobb, 48, has 216 Camping World Truck Series starts under her belt over the past 12 seasons. She earned her best finish of her career at Daytona in 2011 when she crossed the line 6th. She also holds the record for the most laps led on an oval by a female. She is best known as an owner-driver.
Team owner, Rick Ware commented: “I am grateful to have a new sponsor like Arrowhead Brass join in my excitement of having Jennifer Jo Cobb drive for RWR at Talladega Superspeedway.”
“Being a female in a male-dominated sport is not an easy task, especially for as long as Jennifer has been competing in NASCAR. I hope that she has a successful first NASCAR Cup Series debut and look forward to Arrowhead Brass making their NASCAR Sponsorship debut at Talladega as the primary sponsor on Jennifer’s car,” he added.
Rick Ware has a large history of giving females their chances in the sport. He gave Kim Crosby her first start in the Xfinity Series and move recently, Chrissy Wallace her first start in the Truck series. Jennifer will have Arrowhead Brass, a long-time supporter, on the hood of Jennifer’s Chevrolet when she makes her debut on April 25th.
