The driver of the no.47 JTG Daugherty Racing car believes that multiple factors have helped the team get so many top 10s and top 15s early in the season.

One of the most breakthrough teams in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season so far is JTG Daugherty Racing. Both Ryan Preece and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. went on to have plenty of good runs, including the second-place finish for Stenhouse Jr. at the most recent race at Bristol dirt. Preece spoke about what was the reason behind such a strong start of the campaign for both cars.

“A combination of things [were the reason],” Preece told ASN Motorsports. “The Daytona 500 finish was a good jump start for us, got us track position for the road course at Daytona, which plays another huge part in just showing up closer.”

“When you show up close and you don’t have to start thinking, sticking ranches in it. It just allows you to have good pit stops and allows everything to flow and that’s what it comes down to. So, really at the end of the day, everything has just kind of been going our way and we’ve just got to keep it going that way and we’ve got to keep putting good runs together.”

Ryan Preece will try to keep the momentum at Martinsville as he will start 17th at the Paper Clip on Saturday.
