Williams’ George Russell recognizes improvement of one of the team’s biggest rivals in 2021 Alfa Romeo Racing.

Williams keeps climbing up the standings to come back to the glory and their biggest opponent in the 2021 season is likely to be Alfa Romeo Racing. George Russell believes that the Hinwil-based team has improved a lot during the offseason and the battle with them will be quite tough.

“Alfa Romeo at this circuit [Bahrain International Circuit] have made a massive leap forward,” Russell says.

The young British driver also adds that it is quite difficult to understand the real order of teams since Bahrain GP: “I think it’s too early in the season to take to a true read because we’re in such strange and tricky conditions,” he added. “It’s too early to say the true pecking order.”

The best Alfa Romeo car on the Bahrain GP finish was Kimi Raikkonen in 11th position, while George Russell brought his Williams car to 14th place in the standings.
