Charles Leclerc hoped that he could remain in front of Valtteri Bottas after the starting sequence of the Bahrain GP.
Charles Leclerc had a good getaway at this year’s Bahrain GP – he got ahead of Valtteri Bottas at some point, but did not manage to hold him off. The Monegasque shared his thoughts about that moment.
“I managed to get past him but without taking stupid risks,” Leclerc said.
“Before the race, you always try to imagine yourself and what were the fights that I would pick and the others that I wouldn’t,” he added.
“Valtteri was a bit of a question mark because I think in second practice he was not as competitive as we would have expected him to be. So we had a hope of maybe keeping him behind, which was not the case in the race,” Scuderia Ferrari’s driver said in the end.
Charles Leclerc had a solid run on Sunday at Bahrain International Circuit and finished 6th as a result.
