Lewis Hamilton expresses his delight for the Formula 1 fans, regarding a possible title fight between himself and Max Verstappen.
One of the most remarkable moments of the Bahrain GP was a battle for the win between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The battle was very intense and until the very last lap. Speaking about that, Lewis Hamilton shared his happiness for the fans that they could probably witness a championship fight in 2021.
“Yeah, I’m super excited and super happy for the fans, that they are excited. I think it’s something that all the fans have wanted for a long time. Of course, this is only one race, so we don’t know what the future holds in terms of… the pace they have; they could be ahead a lot more, but we’re going to work as hard as we can to try and stay close in this battle and I hope for many more of these sorts of races with Max and Valtteri [Bottas],” Hamilton said.
The reigning 7-time world champion also joked that the battle for the title would be very stressful: “There’s a long way to go, 22 [races] holy crap! I’ll be grey by the end of this!”
Lewis Hamilton leads the drivers’ championship with 25 points scored, while Max Verstappen follows him in the standings 7 points behind.
