Martin Truex Jr. has had a dominant performance to win his first NASCAR Truck Series win at Bristol Motor Speedway dirt track.

After heat races canceled and the main races postponed due to torrential rain, NASCAR Truck Series finally got to race at Bristol dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway dirt track. The green falg was up in the air and 40 drivers went racing around the Last Great Colosseum.

The race lead was changed several times at the opening laps, but it was Shelson Creed, who took the race lead over. He was followed by Matt Crafton and Stewart Friesen. The no.52 Halmar Friesen Racing driver began showing his dirt experience and took over the second place.

The first caution of the day was out on the track after Tanner Gray’s spin. Several laps later, the race got underway again, but not for long – Carson Hocevar had an incident, forcing another yellow flag period. Shortly after the restart, Chandler Smith spun out and got collected by Tyler Ankrum. Martin Truex Jr. capitalized his opportunity at the restart and won stage 1.

The Kyle Busch Motorsports driver had a good start of stage two, passing Stewart Friesen and John Hunter Nemechek, who had stayed out, for the race lead. For Nemechek, however, the race ended just several laps later as he was involved in a wreck after a contact with Matt Crafton and damaged his no.4 truck very hard.

After a couple of cautions and restarts, Martin Truex Jr. went on to win stage 2 as well.

Martin Truex Jr. kept up his good pace at the start of the final stage as he had passed Grant Enfinger, who had not changed tires, for the lead and quickly built some gap from his opponents. Kyle Larson tried to find his rhythm all race long, but in the end, got involved in a crash with Mike Marlar, Danny Bohn, and Brett Moffitt.

Johnny Sauter, Chandler Smith, and Andrew Gordon all got into some incidents through the course of the final stint of the race.

Despite all the restarts and the opportunities the drivers had, no one got close to Martin Truex Jr. as he won the NASCAR Truck Series race at Bristol dirt. Ben Rhodes finished second, while Raphael Lessard completed the top 3 of the race. Chase Briscoe was the other Cup Series driver to cross the finish line in the top 10.
