A spinning Nikita Mazepin at the end of Q1 prompted yellow flags, with the stewards investigating multiple drivers for failing to slow down.

The drivers in question were Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll, Sebastian Vettel and George Russell. The yellow flag also affected the lap of Sebastian Vettel, who did not make it out of Q1, but the driver was not under investigation.

“Three other cars [pointing to the aforementioned] drove through the sector during yellow, but there was clearly no need to investigate their actions as they were significantly slowed,” the FIA statement reads.

“In each case, the driver set a slower time in the sector, drove appropriately by the video, and telemetry showed they took appropriate actions.”
