Sergio Pérez, Red Bull’s new driver, did not make it to Q3 at the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying, and he blames himself for his poor performance.

The Mexican will start the Bahrain Grand Prix 11th. “Unfortunately I did not drive a great qualifying lap,” said Pérez to Ziggo Sport. “I didn’t perform with the mediums as I should, hopefully we can improve tomorrow. Every kilometer I do helps me.”

“It’s not an ideal start to the season,” he continued, talking about his qualifying spot. “We are progressing. The car needs a certain driving style and I understand it. I think we have taken a good step from the third free practice session to qualifying,” he concluded on the topic.
