Hitech Grand Prix and its driver Jüri Vips have been disqualified because the Estonian’s car violated the technical regulations.

The stewards of the FIA have checked the underfloor fin and have found that it does not comply with Article 4.3.13 of the Technical Regulations.

Normally the car is allowed to protrude down 5 mm, but the fins of the Hitech Grand Prix car still protruded 1.5 mm further down than allowed.

Thus all times of the Estonian will be discarded and as a consequence he will start from the last row of the grid. He had originally qualified in P5, but has now been moved to the back of the grid for Sprint Race 1 and the Feature Race on Sunday.

ART Grand Prix’s Théo Pourchaire will now move up to pole instead.
