Porsche has become the latest manufacturer to express support and commitment to Formula E’s Gen3 regulations.
Several days since Nissan’s announcement about commiting to the Gen3 rules, Porsche has revealed that they will join the list as they will support the new regulations.
“With our entry in 2019, we made a clear commitment to Formula E,” Porsche Motorsport vice president, Volkswagen Group senior vice president of motorsports Fritz Enzinger said.
“From our point of view, it offers the most competitive environment to advance the development of high-performance vehicles with a focus on eco-friendliness, energy efficiency, and sustainability. The previous season confirmed this, despite the raft of pandemic-related restrictions,” he added.
“It was important for us that the DNA of Formula E, which has made the championship so successful, was preserved. That’s happened [with Gen3],” Enzinger said in the end.
