Charles Leclerc believes Ferrari’s struggles will continue this year as he predicts another challenging season for the team.

Scuderia Ferrari hopes to have a redemption season after quite unsuccessful 2020 season, which has brought a lot of issues for the Prancing Horses. The Maranello-based team made some adjustments, including the car philosophy and the power unit. The changes have proved to be quite effective at the pre-season testing, yet Charles Leclerc still thinks 2021 is still going to be difficult.

“I know that, being realistic, it’s going to be a very difficult season. But that doesn’t change my motivation,” Leclerc said.

At the same time, that would give even more desire and motivation for the Monegasque: “For me, if I’ve got a car where I feel like sixth is the best place we can do – I’m not saying it’s the case for this year it’s just an example – but if sixth is the best I can do, I’m extremely motivated to try and do third, second or first.”

“So whatever we expect from us, I’m always finding the motivation to try to exceed those expectations, and that’s the way I will approach the season,” he added.

Charles Leclerc will officially start his third season with Scuderia Ferrari later today at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
