Kyle Larson believes that there will be a lot of competitive drivers that will be capable of winning the dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Kyle Larson is undoubtedly one of the biggest favorites of the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series dirt race at Bristol because of his dirt racing success. During the race week, the Hendrick Motorsports driver talked about who he considered to be contenders for the race win.

“I think I would not be shocked if a pavement guy went there and was fast right off the bed, because I don’t think it’s going to be the dirt like we’re used to, but it’s also hard not to look at the guys who have a lot of dirt experience as being the favorites”, Larson told ASN Motorsports.

Larson also named some of the drivers that can go to victory lane on Sunday: “I think Christopher Bell [can win]. I think he is, obviously, one of the most talented race car drivers I’ve ever watched. But, especially on the dirt side, I think for sure he’ll be one of the guys to beat.”

“Austin Dillon is another one that I look at because if anybody has got more experience racing on this type of stuff, it’s him. I’ve got probably still under 10 dirt late model events under my belt, while he grew up racing modifieds, late models, so he’s used to the heavier things, the heavier types of cars. He’s just raced a crate late model there [at Bristol], so he’s used to it – less horsepower and stuff and full body cars. I think Austin, if anybody, probably, has the most advantage”, he added.

“I also wouldn’t be surprised if a guy like Kyle Busch who is so talented and can adapt to anything can go there and win.”

In the conclusion, the Las Vegas race winner said the he anticipated quite the same results on the dirt track, comparing to usual events at Bristol: “I wouldn’t be shocked either if the finishing results weren’t much different than at normal Bristol race.”

Kyle Larson’s biggest accomplishments on dirt track are the 2020 and 2021 Chili Bowl victories.
