Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’ founder Jim Glickenhaus supposes that the team might miss the World Endurance Championship’s first round at Spa-Francorchamps.
One of the most anticipated entries in the World Endurance Championship’s Season 9 is Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. They will join the newly-formed Hypercar class this year. The team intended to skip the scheduled season opener, but after the first race of the season was moved to Spa-Francorchamps, everything looked like Glickenhaus would race there. However, according to the founder Jim Glickenhaus, they might miss the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race as well due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“I think we’re going to go to Spa, but it’s very hard to get things done. We have just got the crash test done. We’re now trying to schedule the aero test, and the aero test people are not giving us dates, because they have issues with their staff and COVID and this and that”, Glickenhaus told Motorsport.com.
“So they are pushing [the dates] back. And eventually, we are getting pushed to a deadline where it would be impossible for us to race at Spa. Then we would start at Portimao”, he added.
“I would like to race at Spa, but I just don’t know. It’s such strange times”, Jim Glickenhaus said in the conclusion.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race will take place on May 1st.
