Stewart Friesen will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut later this March at Bristol dirt race.

Stewart Friesen has made it to the Cup Series. It has been announced on Tuesday that the 37-year-old driver from Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada will get to drive a Cup car for the first time. He will be behind the steering wheel of the no.77 Spire Motorsports car.

Stewart Friesen comments on the announcement: “It’s a dream come true to compete in the Cup Series. It’s the pinnacle of motorsports in North America. As a race fan myself, it has always been something I’ve dreamed about doing. I’m really excited to work with Kevin Bellicourt as our crew chief. I’ve known him for a few years now since we worked together at GMS. In addition to Kevin, the whole SPire Motorsports group has been very welcoming. There’s some stuff we can take from our dirt experience with the truck at Eldora and apply to the Cup car to hopefully be very competitive at Bristol.”

Stewart Friesen is a well-known dirt driver and he also competes in the Truck Series in the no.52 Halmar Friesen Racing truck. The Canadian has two Truck Series victories – at Eldora and Phoenix in 2019.
