Brandon Jones is happy to kick the things off in the Xfinity Series this year with consistent results.

Brandon Jones has had an impressive start to his 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign – the no.19 Joe Gibbs Racing car driver has scored 3 top 5s in the opening 4 races. Ahead of the race at Phoenix Raceway, Jones reflected on his start of the season.

“This has been, honestly, the best start to any year I feel that I’ve had in a long time”, Brandon Jones said. “Take out Daytona, I felt like in that race that was the most confident I’ve ever been, making side-draft moves, making aggressive moves to try to hold on to the lead. I just felt really confident in that very first race this year. Even though we had trouble there towards the end, I still felt it was a big step up from what we’ve been at superspeedways.”

“Leading at all these track, these mile-and-a-halves, we’ve had a lot of speed already to get going. … Even on our little bit of an off-day, we are still top 5, which is, I think, something to say for the team that we’re bringing in the stuff to the track”, he added.

In the conclusion, Jones said that those results would help him stay in contention to win races: “That’s been a very good momentum pusher, momentum builder for myself. In each one of these weekends and not only that I think you continue to put yourself in these top 5 positions, keep sitting yourself up for the next week. So, we are going to have another phenomenal starting spot coming up here in Phoenix because of our position and finish last week in Las Vegas. All that stuff is going to lead to more victories, more success in the series.”

In the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season Brandon Jones has finished 4th at Daytona road course, 2nd at Homestead-Miami, and 3rd at Las Vegas. He retired from the Daytona oval race due to a wreck.
