Rudy Fugle thinks that the trust and belief in each other helps William Byron and himself pursue their dreams.
William Byron and Rudy Fugle have reunited this year in the Cup Series after a successful run in the Truck Series before. The cooperation seems to pay off instantly as the duo has got their first Cup Series victory in just their third race together last Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The no.24 Hendrick Motorsports car crew chief has spoken about how it feels to win with William Byron on the biggest stage.
“That was great. That’s the reason I came over here – to be able to work with William. I believe in him, he believes in me”, Rudy Fugle says. “We’ve got to believe in him since day 1 in the Trucks.”
“It’s fun to realize that’s our dreams as well. Not only our goals but our dreams as well – to be able to compete at this level and win and to be able to do it together, when somebody believes in you like he [William Byron] does in me and I do in him. It’s fun to be successful”, he adds.
Rudy Fugle and Williams Byron worked together in the NASCAR Truck Series in 2016. In 23 races they had 7 wins, 11 top 5s, and 16 top 10s.
