The Romanian driver is set for his Formula 3 debut in the upcoming season with Jenzer Motorsport.
Another seat has been taken in the Formula 3 grid for the 2021 season. It has been announced earlier on Friday that the young driver from Romania Filip Ugran joins Jenzer Motorsport in this year’s campaign. He will be the teammate of Calan Williams and Pierre-Louis Chovet.
Filip Urgan reacts to the signing: “I am extremely pleased to announce that I will be competing for Jenzer Motorsport in the FIA F3 season. I have been competing for this amazing team in the 2020 season and I am very glad about the achieved results. I cannot wait to be back on a circuit soon!”
Team principal Andreas Jenzer shares his thoughts: “We are very motivated that Filip, a driver with whom we have already worked successfully for one season, is entering the FIA F3 championship with us. Filip won’t have it easy as a rookie, so it’s definitely an advantage that we already get along very well. Filip has prepared seriously and we will work hard together. We look forward to an exciting season.”
In 2020 Filip Urgan participated in the Italian F4 with Jenzer Motorsport. He had 4 podiums and scored 133 points, which allowed the Romanian to finish 8th in the drivers’ standings.
