Ferrari has announced it will join the World Endurance Championship Hypercar category from 2023.
It is the sixth manufacturer to announce its commitment to the new Hypercar project. Ferrari had not participated in the top class of Endurance racing since 1973.
The Italian outfit said more details will be released “in due course.”
“In over 70 years of racing, on tracks all over the world, we led our closed-wheel cars to victory by exploring cutting-edge technological solutions,” said John Elkann, Ferrari’s President.
“With the new Le Mans Hypercar programme, Ferrari once again asserts its sporting commitment and determination to be a protagonist in the major global motorsport events,” he concluded.
