The manager of the Gresini Racing team has been battling COVID-19.

We have incredibly sad news coming from the world of MotoGP. The manager of Gresini Racing and motorbike legend Fausto Gresini has passed away. The 60-year-old Italian contracted COVID-19 at the end of 2020 and spent more than two months battling the disease and the consequences, caused by it. Unfortunately, the battle was lost.

Fausto Gresini was a two-time 125cc class champion in 1985 and 1987. He was also a vice-champion three times. Throughout his career Gresini participated in 132 races, in which he had 21 wins, 47 podiums, 17 pole positions, and 13 fastest laps. As a team manager he also got two titles – in 2001 in the 250cc class and in 2010 in Moto2.

ASN Motorsports expresses deepest condolences to Fausto Gresini’s family and Gresini Racing.
