Christian Lundgaard will begin his second full-time season with the French squad. Zhou starts his third with UNI, with both drivers aiming to clinch the Formula 2 crown.
Danish driver Christian Lundgaard announced his re-signing with ART on social media. This coincided with Alpine announcing both he and Zhou were continuing in the Alpine academy. Lundgaard partners Theo Pourchaire in the ART squad in what’s shaping up to be one of the most hotly contested Formula 2 seasons on record.
Zhou re-signed with UNI-Virtuosi, continuing the Chinese driver successful relationship with the British team. He won one race to take himself to sixth in the 2020 F2 campaign.
Both Zhou and Lundgaard undoubtedly have their sights set on a Formula 2 title win. Zhou, in particular, was widely believed to be robbed of a high title placement in 2020 owing to reliability woes and general bad luck. Lundgaard won two sprint races on his way to seventh in the title. Sadly though, it was a hit-and-miss season, scoring only three points in the last six races.
Only five seats are ow left to fill as the F2 fanbase ponders how much more talented the 2021 grid could possibly get. The season is scheduled to begin at Bahrain on March 27.
