William Byron thinks that the pre-race preparation is key to success at Speedweeks.

Hendrick Motorsports is a team with a huge history in NASCAR and they perform at their best every season. The same story is about Speedweeks as the team has won at least one event during the opening week of the Cup Series season for 8 consecutive seasons, which is surely a sign of consistency. William Byron, who has also been a part of Hendrick Motorsports’ success at Daytona in recent years, speaks about the key aspect to such results in his opinion.

“I think it just goes down to the preparation that the guys put in in the shop,” says Byron. “It’s really about the cars that we have to go on and race and I think for us these are the best-prepared cars in the garage”

“It makes our life more simple down there to have a shot at winning something. And I want to be the guy that can go out there and win that race”, the no.24 car driver adds.

William Byron will start the season today at the Busch Clash at Daytona’s road course. He will start the race from 5th position.
